Why I started this:
In 2015 I lost my mother. She had been that person who had
instilled the love for these texts. She was the one who taught me how to analyse
the texts, and try and understand what 60000 sons of Sagara meant.
It was in the end of 2015, that I decided to start the blog.
As a homage to my mother, I started this. And also, to channel my grief
elsewhere. Thus, was born this blog.
I had been looking for an English translation for the
Krittibasi Ramayana for a long time. I saw some Hindi ones, but no English
versions. Therefore, I started this.
This is not my best work, but it is available. I have
started working on refining the posts and the refined work can be found on Written By Babu.
So. a crude translation here, a more refined work there.
What you will find here:
A translation from Bengali into English of the Ramayana of
Krittibas. This was started in 2015 and it wrapped up in 2016.
In 2025, I started revisiting the text, starting on Substack
and then moving on to blogger.
For the posts related to Ramayana, I try and share weekly updates for posts
from Written By Babu.
You can enjoy both. This translation and the work on the other blog (story and
analysis) .
The artwork I have used is something I have generated using
AI tools like Gemini and ChatGPT. Some animated GIF images have been created
using Meta AI.
If there is an issue with the art, please let me know and I will remove them.
